Desire oversight: Less than two months ago, officials at HANO said it would get out of the business of directly running housing developments, after its oversight was criticized by residents and the federal government. But now the public housing authority will reverse course and expand its management portfolio, aiming to take control of the former Desire housing development. Sophie Kasakove explains. Storm brewing: A system in the Gulf of Mexico is expected to intensify this week as it moves toward the border of Louisiana and Texas, where it could make landfall as a hurricane, bringing heavy rain and flooding.
