Dear Friend, Happy Hanukkah! You may remember me from my many books and speaking engagements or from the Forward’s recent gala. I was so delighted to appear at their “Come As You Are” virtual celebration in October.
I believe that the Forward is the one source that’s essential for anyone who wants to know about what's going on in the Jewish world today. I can’t say that everything I read makes me happy. There are articles I disagree with but the Forward makes me think. It informs and it challenges. And isn’t that what good journalism should do?
The Forward strives to be a platform for civil discourse on the issues that divide us. In this critical moment, they are challenging readers like me to think deeply about perspectives beyond our own by publishing a full spectrum of sophisticated, provocative voices from across the Jewish landscape. For me, that’s the truest indicator of the Forward’s ability to represent the diversity within our community.
