In a highly contentious Commission of Inquiry led by the former UN high commissioner for human rights, the United Nations Human Rights Council concluded that Israel is largely to blame for its conflict with the Palestinians. Israel’s Foreign Ministry boycotted the unfair inquiry and released a statement rejecting the outcome saying: "It is a biased and one-sided report tainted with hatred for the State of Israel and based on a long series of previous one-sided and biased reports." Most notably, US State Department spokesperson Ned Price confirmed Washington's opposition to the inquiry and defended the Jewish Homeland. “As we have stated repeatedly, we firmly oppose the open-ended and vaguely defined nature of the UN Human Rights Council’s approach to Israel,” he said. “This report does nothing to alleviate US concerns over a one-sided, biased approach that does nothing to advance the prospects for peace.” |

The current government coalition led by Prime Minister Naftali Bennet and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid has become a minority in the Israeli parliament after Arab lawmaker Ghaida Rinawie Zoabi abruptly pulled her support for the government on ideological grounds. This comes as yet another blow, following the dual resignations of the Prime Minister’s chief of staff and senior adviser for foreign affairs. The fragile coalition faces unenviable political uncertainty amid coalition tensions and ongoing Palestinian attacks. Bennet is now facing a string of crises and his own religious-nationalist party is crumbling. According to coalition chairman Boaz Toporovsky, the situation is undeniably grim. “Everyone understands that we're at a crossroads that can bring about another round of elections in Israel," he said. |

Israeli Gunfire Detector Aims to Revolutionize Battlefield |

A space-age gunfire detection system known as the OTHELLO-P was just developed by Israel Aerospace Industries and may change the way the Israeli Defense Force manages battlefields during wartime. The OTHELLO-P is a compact sensor which immediately detects and alerts troops to incoming gunfire from snipers and indirect fire.“One of the biggest problems we have in battle is getting situational awareness,” explains Israel Aerospace Industries executive Asher Abish. “When you know where the threat is coming from, you can eliminate it. OTHELLO-P increases the ability of troops to return fire as a smart solution, and it will allow the good forces to dominate the fight.” According to Israeli defense officials, the war in Ukraine as well as other global conflicts, have led many countries to turn to Israel for military-related purchases, with military exports by Israel totaling $11.2 billion dollars during last year alone. |

| | As a soldier in the IDF, I spend every single day putting my life on the line defending my people. But, whenever I get the chance to do a little more to help those in need, I take it. That’s why I spend my vacation days dedicating my time to volunteering with Feed Israel, helping distribute food to coronavirus patients, and individuals stuck in quarantine. |
