Of everything that worries me about the political moment we are living in, the rise of anti-Semitism as a political weapon is one that keeps me up at night.
As the United States grapples with real anti-Semitism — rallies where white nationalists carry tiki torches, and shootings in synagogues — our leaders should be taking a stand against hate.
Instead, many of our leaders are using anti-Semitism as a political tool, leveraging a climate of fear for their own political gain.

Journalism’s ability to hold leaders accountable is one of the most important ways we keep our democracy healthy and robust. In our current political moment in the United States, it is more important than ever for Jewish voices from a diversity of perspectives to have a seat at that table.
When leaders use dog-whistle tactics or make accusations of anti-Semitism to serve their own agenda, someone needs to be there to tell them it’s not acceptable and to hold them accountable.
