Dear Reader,

One of my favorite things about Jewish ritual is the way that we are encouraged to reflect. During the Days of Awe Jewish tradition tells us to slow down and dig into the deepest parts of ourselves, to ask ourselves some hard questions: Am I becoming the person I want to be? Am I doing the work I want to do? Am I making a difference in a meaningful way?

As I contemplate these questions for myself, I’m reminded of all the reasons why I’m grateful to be part of the Forward.

At the Forward, we elevate the stories that matter. In just the first few days of the new Jewish year, we’ve already brought you groundbreaking coverage, like how hate crimes are reported.

The Forward brings our integrity, our history, and our Jewish values to every story in our pages. During this time of reflection, join me in making a donation to keep sharing the stories that matter, from the Jewish voices you trust.

May we all continue to become the best versions of ourselves, and to honor the lessons of the people who came before us. Wishing you a meaningful observance of this holy day,
