We truly hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We wanted to let you know how grateful we are for your support in helping us celebrate all the good in Alabama! Here are a few reasons why the staff at TIA are thankful for our sweet home.
“Look, it’s really hard to narrow down all the ways I’m thankful to live in Alabama. From our beautiful nature to our amazing food to our great cost of living (have y’all ever watched TikToks about NYC rent?), Alabama is a great state to live in. But what keeps me a lifelong Alabamian is the people. There’s still a sense of community here. When my family went through some tough times this year, so many people were quick to bring casseroles, barbecue platters and listening ears. I know you can find good people everywhere, but why go elsewhere when there are so many good people here?” – Haley Laurence, managing producer
“I am thankful for all the great Alabama musicians – from Hank Williams to Lionel Richie, Wilson Pickett to Jason Isbell, Nat King Cole to Emmylou Harris. And, of course, the band Alabama, who’ve always been proud to let everyone know their home’s in Alabama.” – Bob Carlton, writer "The people! Our state has some pretty amazing folks when you take the time to stop and have a meaningful conversation with a stranger. I’ve had the pleasure of talking to nearly 1000 Alabamians and sharing their stories with an amazing community. Check it out on Facebook and Instagram." – Tamika Moore, managing producer
“I’m thankful for Alabama because of porch-sitting culture.” – Sydney Batten, commercial video producer “Alabama never stops surprising me. I’m thankful there is always something to discover here – from glowing insects to a new trail to two sculptures of ladies bathing in water – it’s almost impossible to be bored in Alabama. Every day can be an adventure.” – Ali Nolan, audience producer "I'm thankful to have been born in a place as beautiful and uniquely Southern as Mobile. To raise my own family here has been a blessing. I'm thankful for the food, the historic homes, the bay; for the azaleas and camellias and oaks and satsumsas; and for the kindness and humor shown by others who live here." – Michelle Matthews, writer |
