A massive wildfire has erupted near Jerusalem's Yefe Nof neighborhood, forcing evacuations and threatening the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum. Twenty-two fire crews and seven firefighting aircraft are battling the blaze, which is raging in two separate locations. This is not an isolated incident. In recent weeks, Jerusalem has faced several major wildfires, with the most severe in late April burning approximately 20,000 acres and leading to the evacuation of multiple communities. The increase in frequency and intensity of these fires is really concerning. Zaka Tel-Aviv is on the frontlines, providing rapid search and rescue operations, medical assistance, and the respectful handling of fatalities. Our dedicated teams work tirelessly to offer compassionate care to trauma victims and sensitive support during these crises. However, we cannot do this alone. |
