Dear Golfers,
I wanted to reach out to you as we are in an always-changing time of life right now. I want to keep you updated as to where we stand as a club and the actions we are taking with the latest information available to us with regards to COVID-19.
Wildwood Green is open and doing everything we can to keep our members, our customers, and our employees safe.
In the past 24 hours it was announced that Wake County has implemented some new actions to help flatten the curve of the coronavirus and in turn, we have adjusted some things at the club as well.
As we process new information and find procedures that we can alter and adjust, we do so and have recorded these in a prepared readiness plan. This plan will be a helpful tool for our staff as it includes actions that we have taken already and actions that we can take in the future. Feel free to reach out to me directly if you would like a copy for review. I am happy to share this plan with you and hear any thoughts you have on where we can improve.
Items & Processes We Are Adjusting
Beginning Friday, March 27th and going for the foreseeable future, all shotgun starts will be altered to begin as tee times. This will help stagger golfers throughout the facility as well as at the first tee and driving range.
Shared items such as pens/pencils, handouts, scorecards, and menus have been pulled from the golf shop counter, Champions Grille, and the mailbox on hole #2. Please let a staff member know if you need to use any of these items and we will gladly get them for you.
We have moved our oak barrels in front of the golf shop counter to help provide a buffer between the customer and employee.
Our maintenance team has added pieces of foam to the bottom of the cups. This will allow your ball to be "holed" by definition from the USGA so that your scores can still be posted to your GHIN account.
We are extending, through April 30th at a minimum, our social-distancing practice and will allow you to walk at anytime.
We recommend you put a credit card on file for charging purposes and ask that you either book a tee time online or over the phone to avoid unnecessary contact. Feel free to check in over the phone as well. We will notify the starter that you are checked in for play.
What We Ask of You
1. If you are sick, STAY AWAY! 2. An emerging thought is that a sudden loss of smell or taste is a peculiar sign of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus and possible signs of infection even if you are not showing symptoms. 3. Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds at a time. 4. Utilize the hand sanitizer while at the golf shop or grille counter. 5. Limit your interactions inside of the clubhouse and on the back patio. 6. Limit group gatherings. Groups of 10 or more are discouraged. 7. Keep a perimeter of 6 feet between you and the person next to you whenever possible. 8. Leave the flagstick in the hole while playing. 9. Level bunkers after use with your foot and club. 10. Throw away your trash before returning your golf cart after your round. 11. Call in your food order before arriving at the club to limit time spent inside the clubhouse. 12. Ask for a new cup to drink from when visiting Champions Grille. 13. After play go directly to your car and post your score from either the GHIN mobile app or your home computer. 14. Use your own golf balls for practice putting and chipping.
1. Sanitize with bleach-water high-touch areas in the clubhouse. 2. Sanitize with bleach-water high-touch items on the golf carts (steering wheel, handles and sand bottles). 3. Wash and sanitize our hands between transactions. 4. Remain open for you to have an outlet to be outside in the fresh air. 5. Allow walking at anytime through April 30th at a minimum. 6. Allow you to check in for golf by calling into the golf shop rather than entering it. 7. Offer take out and delivery food options to our golfers and the subdivision of Wildwood Green. 8. Monitor closely new developments with regards to providing you services while remaining safe.
