Hey everybody, It has been a super busy week in the archives this week as we have gone back to the dusty shelves of 1980 to bring you the weekly round-up showing what life was like back then in Preston, Blackpool and the Fylde Coast. There are some crackers in there! Following popular photo galleries looking at various areas in Preston and beyond, this week we've begun an investigation into the beautiful outlying suburb of Penwortham. To start with there is a selection of pictures going right back to the 30s and perhaps even earlier, finishing up in the 70s. Next week we will bring you images from the 80s and 90s. Penwortham has such a rich history and I hope some of these pictures reflect that. Rounding off the week we went back to school again, this time with a delve into Ribbleton Hall High School. Did you attend this school? Or did you have friends who went there? We hope these particular images will bring back lots of happy memories for you. Enjoy the bank holiday and I'll see you next week with more wonderful pictures from the past.
