Inspirational Volunteer Award Winners
Congratulations to the winners of the 2018 Inspirational Volunteer Awards! Mrs Gerlach is the recipient of the Mayor’s Volunteer Award as the overall winner of the City of Cockburn’s Inspirational Volunteer Awards for more than 15 years of service to the Cockburn community. When she isn’t removing snakes from people’s yards or teaching people how to survive in the desert, Ann Gerlach is at the Yangebup Family Centre volunteering. Mrs Gerlach has helped shape an award-winning cultural hub where people can embrace diversity and belonging. The other category winners were: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Category Heidi Mippy, Djidi Djidi Aboriginal Women’s Corporation Community Leader Category Lechun (Carol) Zhang, Cockburn Chinese Community Association Volunteer Organisation Category Assisting Your Life to Achieve Inc (AYLA) Volunteer of the Year Robert Keller, Harvest Lakes Residents Association Find out more about what motivates Cockburn's 2019 Inspirational Volunteers? http://bit.ly/inspovollies Winners of the WA Spit Roast 'Night at the Crown' promotion were David Metliss from AYLA Inc and Suwei Zhao from the Cockburn Chinese Community Assoc who won the consolation prize, a $100 gift card. Repairers Wanted - Have you got skills?
Volunteers wanted to help fix items at The Hub 6163 - Repair Hub and Cockburn Repair Cafe. Both organisations are looking for people who are handy sewing, handyman, carpentry, electrical, jewellery, technology and more. Help the Cockburn Community repair re-use and reduce!

Free colour printing All Cockburn not-for-profits are eligible for 500 free colour prints per month. Ideal for printing flyers for fundraising and community events. Email the VRC with one week's notice to book in printing. volunteering@cockburn.wa.gov.au Volunteer Recruitment Looking for volunteers? The VRC offers free advertising of vacant volunteer roles across multiple platforms including Seek Volunteering, Go Volunteer and other City of Cockburn platforms.
