Chilly weekend, then weather whiplash. Friday night and early Saturday lows will be in the 30s across most of Minnesota. There will even be some 20s in north-central and northeastern Minnesota. With news that President Donald Trump and at least one staff member have tested positive for the coronavirus, there are questions about whether there was any spread during a campaign stop in Minnesota earlier this week. The president was in close contact with several people during his visit, including Republican party donors and members of the state's congressional delegation.
Representatives Jim Hagedorn, Pete Stauber and Tom Emmer flew on Air Force One with Trump. All three said they tested negative today.
Trump will spend a “few days” at a military hospital. The White House said the visit was precautionary and that he would work from the hospital’s presidential suite, which is equipped to allow him to continue his official duties. Trump “remains fatigued,” his doctor said.
Latest on COVID-19 in MN: 10 more Minnesotans died from the disease. The state’s death toll has reached 2,000 and the case total passed 100,000 this week. State officials on Friday also warned that people who attended the president’s Minnesota events this week may be infectious without knowing it.
