Seasonable weather on Halloween. Tonight, it'll be mostly clear with lows in the upper 20s to the mid-30s. Under southerly winds and the influence of a warm front Saturday morning, highs make it into the 40s and low 50s, which is very close to average for Halloween. Sunday will be mostly sunny with highs in the 30s. Another grim milestone: Record 3,100 COVID cases reported today. Minnesota’s grim week of COVID-19 records continued Friday as the Health Department reported more than 3,100 newly confirmed cases of the disease, the first time the daily report has topped 3,000 in the pandemic. State officials said 18 more Minnesotans have died, continuing a troubling October of steeply rising cases, hospitalizations and deaths to COVID-19. Secretary of State Steve Simon: You can override your recently-mailed absentee ballot if you're worried it won’t arrive by the new court-ordered deadline. There are almost 400,000 absentee ballots that have yet to be filled out and sent back to Minnesota election officials. The latest statistics from the Secretary of State’s office show that nearly 1.6 million ballots have been returned and marked accepted.
