| A dozen Russian intelligence officials were charged with hacking into the Democratic National Committee and the campaign of the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, and distributing stolen emails, according to an indictment obtained by Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office. The officers spear-phished volunteers and employees of the Clinton campaign, obtained log-in credentials and used them to secretly monitor the computer activity of “dozens of employees,” the Justice Department said.
