Never underestimate the power of a toilet brush, and a toilet plunger. Life would be incredibly messy without them… And given their menial tasks, I think they deserve to look good at the least! The Yosh toilet brush is a redesigned version of the old, clinical looking brush. The new design not only looks refreshingly different, it performs much better than its predecessor. A Polypropylene construction on the inside of the brush gives it its structure while the outer silicone build allows it to be pivotal at the base of the handle while also promoting a great grip. The brush end of the Yosh is unique in every which way. Its flat design allows it to clean more of an area while allowing it to get into hard to reach spots. Short bristles give it better scrubbing action. The flexible pivot between the brush and the handle allows it to be maneuvered easily across the toilet’s curved surfaces, meaning a cleaner toilet with lesser effort.

Along with the brush redesign, the brush’s stand saw a makeover too. The flat broad stand provides great stability so the brush doesn’t tip over. Its double floored construction allows water to drip through and collect at the lower reservoir, making your brush neat and dry in a jiffy! Plus with the brush’s funky color combos, it’s arguably the most magical broom you’ll see as a Muggle!

The Wheels on your Cuffs go Round and Round

At YD, we usually don’t foray into fashion design, but when we do, we pick the classiest of designs to showcase! Encelade’s cufflink collection are certainly revolutionary. In fact they’re literally revolutionary! Each cuff link comes with a classy/quirky design that rotates on an axis, bringing some spinning to your bling!

The Encelade cufflinks are made in metal and finely finished with haute horlogerie finishing. The cufflinks are then PVD coated, giving them an immaculate gloss finish. Each cufflink contains inside it an intricate mechanism and the smallest ball bearings in the world to give you the best spinning action. Encelade claims the cufflink mechanism is extremely silent and are capable of turning at 150,000 RPM (but let’s not mount motors on our wrists yet). Hover Carts Make Plane Rides Easy

The most annoying part of any meal service mid-flight is when a passenger wants to get past the flight attendant and squeeze down the narrow aisle. The Cart line is a solution to this very common problem. You see, Murphy’s Law is always at play … you will always get the urge to use the restroom just when its next to impossible! So it’s either this functional cart that gets stowed overhead or upgrade to First Class.

Slide Rail
The cart is guided by a set of rails overhead.

Brake Device & Handle
The brake makes the cart steadier and safer when overhead, avoiding collapse caused by turbulence. The breaks are automatically activated when the attendant is not pushing the device.

Ergonomic
This design also benefits the ergonomy of the attendants. When getting things in our out of the cart they need not bend down, this avoiding long term occupational injuries.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. Design is probably one of the few professions that cannot be taken over by Artificial Intelligence. AI has managed to be incredibly analytical and logical. Not creative. However, it’s nice to see that algorithms can make attempts at designing! The Raygon lamp is an exercise in algorithmic design by Mohanned Iskanderani. He uses a scripted code to create harmonic cutout patterns that grow larger at some places and become smaller at others, not just creating a product with high sculptural value, but also a lamp that casts some incredible shadows!

A Lean Mean Cleaning Machine

The vacuum cleaner made cleaning easier. It never made cleaning more efficient. In most parts of the world, the broom is still the most effective for cleaning one’s home. Its popularity stems from the fact that it’s light, easily maneuverable, adaptive and has a pretty far reach. Most vacuum cleaners are either small and portable or large and clunky. Not the Philips Broom, however. Designed by students at TU Delft in partnership with Philips, the Philips Vacuum Broom strikes the sweet spot, giving you the feeling of working with a broom combined with the technological prowess of a powerful vacuum cleaner. The solution is pretty much a single stick that houses the entire vacuum cleaning unit along with a battery, giving you complete mobility. The dust sack can be found right underneath the display, well within access, allowing you to empty and clean the vacuum broom out without hassle. Get this, the vacuum broom even comes with a detachable nozzle, allowing it to become a short, portable dust-buster style vacuum cleaner. How’s that for two birds with one stone!
