What’s great about titanium is that it’s abundant, light-weight, anti-corrosive, and pretty much indestructible. What’s a little perplexing however is that using titanium for just making pens isn’t really doing much justice to the material. Titanium is a wonderful choice of material for products that really push the boundaries of stressful usage, making it apt for items like tools and instruments that get used relentlessly on a daily basis.

That’s why titanium is a perfect material for Feastform’s kitchenware series. Bring Back Memories. Not Sand.

Ever gone to the beach only to carry half your weight in sand back with you? Beach bags are rather handy and convenient, however, they really love sand. Sand, mud, grit, all of it just gets into all your belongings, forming a lining on the inside of your bag, scratching your expensive sunglasses, creeping into your gadgets, and getting into nooks and crannies… forever.

Normalizing Nutritional Support

Alladin’s Magic (self-rolling) Yoga Carpet

This Yoga mat renders the popular catchphrase “they see me rollin” obsolete. Designed with technology borrowed and refined from a child’s slap-on wrist band, the YoYo Mats stay flat when you need them to, and automatically (automagically) roll up neatly when you’re done!

It isn’t as simple as it looks however, say founders Aaron and Yu. They spent several months refining the process till they got it to work like a charm. The result? Bloody impressive! The mat stays absolutely flat when you need it, never dog-earing or folding over and being an annoyance while you’re meditating, exercising, or dancing. Do what you gotta do, and then just flip the mat over and it autonomously rolls up (akin to a yo-yo, hence the name) into a neat little roll that’ll never roll crooked, thanks to its dual rolling band arrangement… which you can then pick up and carry home or dump in the boot of your car! Now if only they made some self-tucking bedsheets…

This tropical terrarium purifies your water

Inspired by an old Indian saying “Drop by Drop, fills an Ocean”, Pratik Ghosh’s Drop by Drop explores a human’s relationship with water as an elixir of life, and more importantly, a natural resource. The resulting product is a water filtration system that relies on a mini biosphere to produce (or rather filter) through the natural process of precipitation. With a beautiful aesthetic that can aptly be described as steampunk meets contemporary minimalism, Drop by Drop purifies water the natural way, making it potable with the added benefit of owning a beautiful tropical terrarium.

Drop by Drop is influenced by a theory referred to as the Biotic Pump, discussed in length by Russian scientists, Anastassia Makarieva and Victor Gorshkov. It talks about how plants pull water from the soil, and transpire it into the atmosphere, finally causing it to precipitate back onto land and into the soil. Drop by Drop does the same thing. The apparatus was designed with a water inlet, that waters the plant inside the main chamber. The main chamber is transparent, so as to allow sunlight to pass, and essentially operate as a greenhouse. The water that transpires from the leaves of the plant then condense on the glass cover of the main chamber, gathering over time, and then trickling down and collecting in a glass/beaker at the opposite end. Pratik claims the Drop by Drop can purify up to a glass of water in 12 hours. While that doesn’t seem like much, his plans for the project are much bigger, involving set-ups on a larger scale, so that water can be naturally harvested and purified with minimal effort. Home Delivery in every literal sense

Not to be confused with THIS home delivery, the Delivery Stool by Amar Nath Shaw is for delivering babies at home. Given India’s rising population, along with its lack of proper medical facilities and even the proper distribution of medical facilities, the Delivery Stool is for scenarios where birthing a child at home is requested, or required.

Designed to be used by trained medical professional (a midwife, but with medical credentials), the Stool is carried like a briefcase to the home where the birth is to take place. When opened out, it becomes a complete birthing apparatus, along with a U shaped stool, bedpan, tool-kit, and an anti-splash mat. The stool’s cushion and the mat (suitcase cover) are both made out of red tarpaulin that’s cheap, easy to clean, and masks the color of the blood. The stool itself is made from plastic, which is hollow on the inside, making it incredibly light-weight, allowing the entire kit to be carried by one person.

Roughly 303,000 mothers died during and following pregnancy and child-birth in 2015, due to lack of proper hygiene, or resources. Shaw’s stool aims at providing a concrete system and setup for the birthing process, aiding the medical community while helping mothers deliver their children safely, and with relative ease.
