Whether you're a runner, cyclist or just spend lots of time working at a desk, many of us experience 'tight' hamstrings.
While there's a lot of emphasis in yoga on stretching the hamstrings, there's less focus on strengthening them (because of the belief that this will make them tighter).
In fact, it's important to do both. While we may think it's our hamstrings that are tight, many of us have tight adductors and weak glutes - both of which make our hamstrings work harder (and therefore feel tighter) and can contribute to tension in the lower back.
