Young Guns: We Want Your Nominations! Each year, we seek to honor as-yet-under-the-radar design professionals who are challenging the industry's status quo—and we need your help to do it. Nominations are now open for the Young Guns Class of 2016.What is it? Young Guns is Curbed's annual search for the nation's brightest young professionals who embody the most promising future of the design industry. Who are we looking for? Designers focused on interiors, furniture, graphics, industrial design, landscape, urban planning, and more: Furniture startups looking to capitalize on crowdfunding to launch affordable collections. Landscape designers working with urban planners to reorient traffic patterns along a riverfront. Retailers doubling down on American-made goods. Engineers launching apps that revolutionize how you renovate your home. (Check out last year's range of honorees.) Who qualifies? All candidates must be based in the United States, and nominees must be under the age of 35 or have been in the business for less than five years (education excluded). We're looking for folks with tangible work, not just a portfolio of innovative designs. What's next? Once we've amassed our nominees, we'll select the best of the best and feature the finalists, and their work, on Curbed this May. We want Curbed Young Guns to be the most democratic of awards, so the nomination process is open to everyone, and you can absolutely send in more than one name. Nominations close at midnight on Monday, April 11. Nominate a designer now! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
