The first-of-its kind location, called Avivo Village, opened almost three years ago in the north loop neighborhood near downtown Minneapolis inside a warehouse that now includes 100 tiny homes. | | Twins fans celebrate team's first playoff series win since 2002 | The Minnesota Twins are heading to the American League Division Series in Houston after winning yesterday's game and sweeping the Toronto Blue Jays in a wild card series. On Tuesday, the Twins won their first postseason game since 2004. And on Wednesday, they won again — their first playoff series win since 2002.

Tom Emmer vying for promotion to majority leader post. Emmer’s plan is contingent on who replaces Rep. Kevin McCarthy as speaker. Current House Majority Leader Steve Scalise of Louisiana threw his name into contention for speaker, a bid Emmer is backing. More from the ouster: The House can't work without a speaker. How will it choose McCarthy's successor? The House is without a leader — and in uncharted territory. Crucially, it can't conduct any legislative work without an elected speaker. Members must elect a new one before they can get back to their to-do lists, which include funding the government to avoid a shutdown in the next 43 days. What's the context behind Target's store closures? Target announced last week it will close nine stores in four states because of organized theft. The closures represent a small fraction of Target's nearly 2,000 stores across the country. But it leaves questions about Target's vitality in the retail market. 1 teen dead, 2 others wounded in St. Paul shooting. Authorities have not released the victims’ names or ages, or given further details on what led to the shooting.
