| | Trooper charged with murder of Ricky Cobb II expected to make first court appearance Monday | A Minnesota State Patrol trooper charged with murder and manslaughter for a fatal shooting during a traffic stop last year is scheduled to make his first appearance in Hennepin County District Court on Monday afternoon. Trooper Ryan Londregan was charged last week by Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty for the killing of 33-year-old Ricky Cobb II last July during a traffic stop. He’s charged with second-degree unintentional murder, first-degree assault and second-degree manslaughter. | |

Some of what happened all those years ago has been revealed — but not all. Biden: 3 Americans killed, 'many' wounded in drone attack by Iran-backed militia in Jordan. Three American service members were killed and “many” were wounded in a drone strike in northeast Jordan near the Syrian border. Biden attributed the attack to Iran-backed militia groups. USA Hockey will mandate neck laceration protection for players under 18. USA Hockey is mandating neck laceration protection for all players under the age of 18. The new rule goes into effect Aug. 1. The decision comes three months after American Adam Johnson died after taking a skate blade to the neck during a game in the Elite Ice Hockey League. Arrowhead 135 races forward, despite warm weather. A 135-mile race in International Falls starts Monday. That’s despite concerns there won’t be enough snow from the unusually warm weather. Warm weather melts some outdoor fun in Twin Cities. Minneapolis and St. Paul are closing non-refrigerated rinks to skaters. And organizers of the Art Shanty Projects on Lake Harriet encourage visitors as they monitor conditions. The Kansas City Chiefs will play the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl.
