The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has released a case file from the investigation into last year’s fatal shooting of motorist Ricky Cobb II by a state trooper. 🗳️ Speaker Hortman praises Harris’ ‘cool aunt appeal,’ hopeful of down-ballot boost. Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman says she expects Vice President Kamala Harris, not former President Donald Trump, to have coattails in the North Star state. 💰 Federal money to tackle food waste and climate pollution flows to Minnesota in the fall. The state is set to receive a $200 million grant to reduce food waste and climate pollution. The money will go toward projects that decarbonize food systems while keeping Minnesotans sustainably fed. 📣 In an energized 1st campaign speech, Harris makes her pitch for 2024. The song “Freedom” by Beyoncé played as Harris greeted an excited crowd, holding up white and blue signs that read “Kamala” and chanting her name. Harris’s speech marks the first campaign event she’s held since President Biden ended his campaign on Sunday. 🏛️ For the first time since he exited the presidential race, Biden to address the nation.
