🎧 A five-day, 40-hour workweek is the norm for many American workers. But why? What if instead of five work days, we had four? The idea of a four-day work week is gaining more and more traction. A recent pilot program in the U.K. tested four-day workweeks with fewer hours than the standard 40. The study showed positive results across the board for both employees and employers. State transportation officials are moving ahead with a plan to remake a stretch of London Road in Duluth — the gateway to the North Shore — despite many residents’ objections to one of three proposed roundabouts.
To make way for the roundabouts, MnDOT would need to raze five homes — four near the 40th Ave. intersection, and one at 60th Ave., where Elizabeth Johnson has lived for the past six years, across from a rocky beach popular with surfers and dogwalkers.
