Cold snap continues; Drivers licenses for all
Good morning, Tuesday brings another subzero morning to Minnesota. The core of the coldest air with our current air mass will slide south into the Twin Cities Tuesday morning. We should dip to minus 10 to minus 12 around the greater Twin Cities area. The good news? The worst weeks of winter are likely behind us after this week. | | ‘All Minnesotans deserve this’: MN House passes driver’s license bill | The Minnesota House of Representatives passed a bill that would allow non-citizens to apply for and obtain driver’s licenses if they pass the required tests. Rep. María Isa Pérez-Vega, DFL-St. Paul, is one of the bill’s authors and she said that she’d taken a role as a godmother to many kids in her community because their parents couldn’t legally drive because of their immigration status. She urged policymakers to pass the bill to ensure that immigrant communities could drive legally and obtain insurance.
