The aftermath of the ivory ban


At the beginning of the year China passed a ban on ivory. This was a major victory for elephant conservation and wildlife!
Following the ban, WWF-China has spoken out about the new law and what this means for elephants and the rangers who protect them.

Ivory is a common gift given during Chinese New Year, but during the festive celebrations this year, it is important to give life, not ivory.

... due to high demand for their scales, the Asian pangolin population has declined by an estimated 80% over the past decade.
