The Emissions Gap Report 2018, released by UN Environment, shows that emissions cuts pledged by governments are nowhere near ambitious enough to achieve the temperature goal set out in the Paris Agreement. The findings urge for stronger commitments at the 2018 UN climate change negotiations (COP24), taking place in a few days on 2 Dec.
