2019 - A year of impact

At World TEAM, we strive to make a positive impact each day, through each of our programs. The support of our participants, donors, volunteers, and partners allows us to continue to empowered people and change lives. 

Face of America Gettysburg 

Special Abilities Initiative   

This summer, World TEAM, together with our partners, hosted three programs serving individuals with intellectual disabilities (IDD).  These inclusive events served more than 150 participants, including 58 individuals with IDD.  Our participants hiked, biked, kayaked, and climbed a mountain.

These programs continue to have a huge impact on our fellow citizens living with IDD and we are thrilled to be able to join with our partners – The Center for Discovery, Best Buddies, and Independent Group Home Living - to serve this community.

Adventure TEAM Challenge Colorado 

This inclusive adventure race, has teams of five athletes – two of whom have a physical disability – come together over a weekend to conquer challenges in the Colorado wilderness. 

The 2019 event was a huge success with 12 teamstotaling 60 athletes, including 25 adaptive athletes in the mountains outside of Vail. Together they raised over $100,000 in support of our programs.

2020 – A Year of Possibilities

We are growing. We are committed to increasing our outreach in 2020, bringing in even more adaptive participants into our programs. We recognize the importance of expanding our programs to serve even more individuals living with physical and intellectual disabilities.
