A Message From the Editor For those in the legal technology industry, it can seem like there’s a tech solution for almost every problem a lawyer could possibly have. But it’s important to remember that we may be in the “legal tech bubble,” and that reality can be far different. LTN’s Frank Ready reported last Thursday on an Intapp survey that found, surprisingly, that 40 percent of respondents felt there weren’t tech solutions designed specifically to address their unique needs. And the fixes they wanted weren’t pie-in-the-sky either: 41 percent wanted better user interfaces, followed by software tailored to the practice of law at 29 percent. To me, it’s a reminder that as cool as new AI and blockchain and analytics-enabled technologies can be, the first question when adopting a new technology should be: How do attorneys actually want to work? Sometimes, the best solution can be an obvious one. We explore the above survey and more in this week’s Editor’s Picks. – Zach Warren, editor-in-chief, Legaltech News |
