There were 10.7 million available jobs in September, compared with a revised 10.3 million in August, according to the Labor Department's Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey. US employees' satisfaction with their employers has dropped from last year as burnout and insufficient pay and health care benefits lead many to consider leaving their jobs, according to a Mercer survey. "In 2022, employees value a workplace that centers on well-being, where they have more-sustainable workloads and more resources to support their holistic health -- financial, physical, and mental," says Lauren Mason, senior principal for Mercer's career business practice.
