Addressing the stigma around stomas

Over 42,000 Australians live with a stoma and thousands of people undergo stoma surgery every year.
On February 26th, 2019, Geoff went in to have a colonoscopy. It revealed a 6 cm tumour in his bowel.
To allow his body to recover from the surgery, Geoff wore a stoma bag for 3 months.
Prior to having his stoma reversed, Geoff made this video to help address the stigma around stomas and to remind people to be bowel cancer aware.

The Ride for Research is fully supported with local guides and crew and covers mostly flat terrain. You’ll have the next 12 months to train, fundraise, and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime.

Meat Free Week 2019

Big thanks to all our supporters who participated in Meat Free Week 2019 and congratulations on completing the challenge!

An annual campaign, Meat Free Week is about encouraging people to discover how easy it is to make little changes that can create a big difference.

Trying a plant-based menu for one week continues to create a great opportunity to start thinking about how much meat you eat and the impact eating too much meat may have.

The goal is that with education, awareness and the information to make informed choices, meat-eaters will consider portion sizes if including meat as part of a balanced diet during the other 51 weeks of the year.
