This blog from last December on getting through the end-of-semester grading crush remains relevant. One top tip is to grade in community with others because "working alongside other teachers can help us to establish healthy grading practices." The post also gives best practices for what to do before and once assignments are turned in. New research shows how grading fatigue affects students at the end of the alphabet, so be sure to build in some breaks while you grade. |

The Duke Center for Computational Thinking recently conducted a survey of the Duke community to capture the "state of AI" at Duke. The goal of this effort was to gather information from a wide range of AI users and researchers across Duke and discover their AI-related needs. Penprase is a visiting scholar at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and vice president for sponsored research and external academic relations, as well as professor of physics and astronomy, at Soka University.
