Epson puts the spotlight on other projector makers' brightness claims
| Changes will help shoppers make more informed choices
| Epson recently succeeded in getting Formovie Tech to adopt a widely accepted standard for measuring brightness, leading the latter company to reduce the lumen rating for several of its projectors, Home Theater Review reported. For example, the Formovie Theater projector has had its rating reduced from 2,800 lumens to 1,800 lumens, while the Formovie P1 is now at 250 lumens, down from 800 lumens. These are big changes that will help shoppers to make more informed choices when looking for a new home projector. Netflix reportedly greenlights Ghostbusters animated series | Elliott Kalan of The Daily Show/Mystery Science Theater 3000 is believed to be the show's writer and executive producer | Netflix has given the nod to the animated Ghostbusters series that was first announced two years ago, Variety reported, citing sources in the know. “Exact plot details are still under wraps, but sources say the 3D animated series will be tonally in line with the recent Ghostbusters films,” the report said. Sony Pictures Animation is behind the series, with Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan of Ghost Corps, Inc. on board as executive producers.
