Need a fun activity for the kids on a rainy day? We made boats out of plastic bottles and decorated them with supplies on I had on hand. They kept the kids occupied and they had fun making their toy boats.

With just a few garden supplies, you can make this cute hanging envelope planter. Fill this planter with some plant cuttings and it will look nice in your yard! It is the perfect planter to make if you are limited on space in your yard and this planter will not cost much if you have most of the supplies already like I did!

Upcycled Cracker Box for Storing Craft Supplies

This is a charming little box, made out of part of a cracker box. The designs on this box are various colors of paper, glued on all four sides. Twine adds a cute touch, along with a big bow. I am using this one to store craft supplies and paper scraps.

Blowing a mixture of liquid soap, paint, and water through a straw make colourful bubbles that can turn a surface into beautiful art when popped. This is a craft I like to do with my little nieces and nephews, but I blow the bubbles so they don't accidentally ingest anything. This can also be done with water soluble food colouring.

Adjusting the Size of Fitted Sheets

I received this pair of sheets for Christmas three years ago and I never did like them. The fitted sheet was a little too big for the bed and it wrinkled when sleeping on it. I put the pair of sheets in the box of items I collect to take to Goodwill, which gives me a little time to really know if I want to part with this item.

My mother adores flowers that stand tall like hyacinths and lavender, so I'm making her a bouquet of them out of coloured paper. That's really all you need: paper, scissors, and glue. These flowers include the stem, so you can create several and they make a great bouquet as a gift.

You can make a beautiful little heart out of 4 strips of ribbon. It just takes a few weaves and a bit of hot glue. I like to use these on my homemade greeting cards, or glue a pin on the back to use as a brooch. You can use 2 colours of ribbon if you like. This works with all ribbon widths.

I haven't seen anyone do this before so I'm really quite proud of my thrifty innovation. I love quilled paper crafts, but I hate sitting there, rolling paper into swirls for hours on end. Here is how to make a a paper quilling tool out of a lollipop, where one end grabs the paper, and the other helps you spin the paper much faster.

A new use for old windows. Paint the window frames and let dry. Be creative and paint the glass with stained glass paint. Once dry, glue the marbles to the glass then let the glue dry.

Do you ever use construction paper or even lined paper and after cutting or using the section of the paper you need, toss the paper in the trash? Stop right now. You can use the scrap pieces. You can use cute shape hole punchers and save those scrap paper into confetti!

Fabric Scrap and Recycled Clothing Coasters

Old shirts or leftover fabric make great coasters. Braid strips of 1 1/2 inch strips of fabric and tie several together if you want larger coasters. Take the braided strips and lay them next to each other creating circles.

Keeping Cross Stitch Clean in Floor Frame

I do a lot of cross stitching and always use a floor stand. However, when kept in the stand frame, it is open to household odors, my hubby's cigarette smoke, etc. I now use a plastic garbage bag to slide over the scroll rods and upper frame, therefore helping to keep it a little cleaner.

When I deadhead my herbs, I put the clippings in a nice bowl on a table, the bathroom counter, or anywhere. Then every time I walk past, I just toss them a few times with my fingertips. This releases the fragrance into the room even more and helps it to dry evenly.
