According to an email sent to students by Acting Provost Susan Collins, all undergraduate courses at the University of Michigan will transition to an alternative grading policy.
The policy, announced this Friday, says that students will now receive a âPassâ or âNo Record Covidâ on their transcript, as opposed to a letter grade. Students will have the option to âunmaskâ their letter grade in order for the traditional letter to be put onto their transcripts and impact their GPA.

This week, classes go Pass/No Record Covid, students living in residence halls are offered a refund and graduating students reflect on their final days of school.
According to an email sent to housing residents from Simone Himbeault Taylor, interim vice president for student life, Friday morning, all students who move out of residence halls by March 25 will receive a $1,200 refund.
Students who have already checked out of their residence halls will automatically receive the refund, which will be directly applied to each studentâs account.
In a press release Sunday afternoon, the Washtenaw County Health Department announced that an elderly man with underlying health conditions passed away at Michigan Medicine on Sunday from reasons attributed to COVID-19.
As of Sunday afternoon, there are currently 35 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Washtenaw County, and 1,035 cases in Michigan.
On the heels of widespread changes in daily life in response to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, graduating students at the University unknowingly experienced their final college moments.
