In a move that's certain to set off a legal fight, Gov. Jeff Landry vowed to sign a law mandating that the Ten Commandments be displayed in every Louisiana schoolroom. The governor also followed an important Louisiana political commandment: thou shalt not cross trial lawyers, particularly if they support your campaign. Jeff Landry is opening another front in the culture wars, this time over what was until recently a long-settled battle over the separation of church and state. During a speech in Tennessee this week, he vowed to sign a bill mandating that every classroom in Louisiana hang the Ten Commandments on its wall.
